Middle schooler collects 4 college football offers; Jahkeem Stewart stuns at prospect camps

RESERVE — Fourteen-year-old Jahkeem Stewart has not yet touched a high school football field, but this incoming eighth grader has already earned college offers from Auburn, Georgia, Miami and Ole Miss.

This Class of 2026 recruit stands out from other kids at East St. John Preparatory Academy in Reserve. One factor is his size; standing 6-foot-5 and weighing in at 290 pounds, he’s easy to spot on the field. He’s also garnered attention for his talent playing defensive tackle with performances that caught the eyes of college coaches around the country.

Earlier this month, Jahkeem embarked on a college tour with Edge Assassins Coach Clyde Alexander and other talented athletes from the River Region. The first week of June was a flurry of action with visits to Georgia, Clemson, Ole Miss and Alabama.

Jahkeem had stellar performances in one-on-one linebacker drills in Georgia, culminating in a college offer from the Bulldogs. Soon after, Jahkeem received another two offers from Florida and Auburn.

An offer from Ole Miss followed suit after Jahkeem won all nine of his reps against much older competitors during the first prospect camp of the summer. David Johnson with 247Sports reported that Jahkeem “turned heads” and that he was equally impressive at offensive tackle.

The Edge Assassins crew is expected to continue the college tour with visits to LSU on June 18, Florida on June 25 and Miami on June 26.

Jahkeem already got a taste of the LSU Tigers football program last week when he visited the campus for a private workout just before a scheduled OL/DL camp.

Jahkeem has been playing football since he was about 5 years old. He loves the energy of the sport and the thrill that comes with contact on the field.

Although he’s not sure where he will be attending high school, his goals are to keep his grades up, go to a state championship, become MVP, and eventually dominate at the college level.

“It was a good experience. The colleges I went to really inspired me to just push myself even more and be great,” Jahkeem told L’OBSERVATEUR.

In addition to playing football for East St. John Prep, Jahkeem also competes in 13U travel football with the New Orleans Patriots.
