Antibody testing offered at blood drives

LAPLACE — Riverlands Golf & Country Club is hosting a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at 500 Fairway Drive in LaPlace.

Free COVID-19 antibody testing will be available to everyone who donates.

Appointments are necessary to control the flow of donors. Please make an appointment at www.thebloodcenter.org/fastlane. This link can be used to answer medical and travel questions the morning of the blood drive to save time.

Due to the success of the Aug. 8 blood drive in Luling, St. Charles Parish and Ochsner will partner to host an additional two blood drives on August 10 and August 24. Times will be announced soon, and registration will be required.

Ochsner blood banks and blood drives participating in the antibody testing incentive can be found at www.ochsner.org/bloodbank. Presence of the antibody indicates the individual has been infected with COVID-19 in the past.
